According to the news report from reporter Ai Hua Li, yesterday afternoon, at Wuhu Zheng Street in Huangpi, a two-storey private house collapsed while being demolished. The prefabricated slab on the second floor roof suddenly collapsed. Local residents and nearby police rushed to the scene and spontaneously helped dig out the victims by hand. Five migrant workers who were buried under the bricks were rescued and sent to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, none of the injured were in danger of losing their lives.

The incident occurred at No. 98 Xiao Jia Li Bei, Wuhu Zheng Street. Yesterday morning, the reporter saw at the scene that a two-storey private house had been demolished halfway, with the top layer of the prefabricated slab collapsed in the middle, and a large amount of bricks piled up beside the house. A nearby resident introduced that around 4 p.m. yesterday, more than ten migrant workers were hired to demolish this house. While they were dismantling the wall with large hammers, there was suddenly a loud noise, and the prefabricated slab on the top floor collapsed. Six migrant workers fell instantly from the roof, five of whom were buried under the rubble.

After the residents reported the incident, the police from Wuhu police station quickly arrived at the scene and joined the residents in rescue efforts. Everyone dug out the bricks by hand, moved the beams, and successively rescued the five buried migrant workers, lifting them onto the 120 emergency ambulance and sending them to a hospital in Hankou for treatment.

According to Mr. Xiao, the landlord, his daughter ran a private kindergarten at home. Due to limited space in the kindergarten, they planned to demolish the two-storey building and subcontracted the project to more than ten migrant workers from Huangpi Liu Zhi Town. These workers did not take protective measures during the demolition, resulting in an accident.

It is understood that after the incident, four workers with more serious injuries were sent to the Air Force Hospital, and another worker with minor injuries remained in Wuhu for treatment. It is learned that among the four people treated at the Air Force Hospital, Yang Yunyou was the most seriously injured, with a fractured lumbar vertebra requiring transfer for treatment. The other three suffered varying degrees of injuries to their heads and chests, but fortunately, none were in danger of losing their lives.
