Yesterday, after just having undergone surgery, Wenwen's condition was still unstable and she remained in the ICU of the Xianyang Central Hospital. According to the emergency room doctor who was on duty the night of the 26th, when Wenwen was brought in, she was suffering from hemorrhagic shock, with dozens of stab wounds to her head, a fractured skull, three cuts on her face, a broken nasal bone, and both of her pinky fingers were missing.
In the morning of yesterday, in the Sanyang community, some people were discussing the matter of Wenwen being attacked at home. Some said that Wenwen had been injured by her stepmother, Liu Fei (a pseudonym), but no one knew why the stepmother would hurt Wenwen.
One neighbor said that at around 10 p.m. on the 26th, his family was playing mahjong when someone suddenly knocked on his door asking for help. He followed them upstairs and saw Wenwen covered in blood, with much blood on the floor, the house in disarray, and many people present. Subsequently, he helped carry Wenwen downstairs, but he did not know who had injured Wenwen or how it happened.
Another neighbor said that at the time he was watching TV at home, and heard hurried footsteps on the stairs.

Although Wenwen is already in the fifth grade, her stepmother still insists on picking her up and dropping her off at school every day.
"I've never seen them argue, nor have I ever seen Liu Fei scold or beat Wenwen." A neighbor from the same unit building said that although Liu Fei is Wenwen's stepmother, she treats Wenwen exceptionally well, just like her own child.
Another neighbor said that at noon on the 26th, she still saw Liu Fei taking Wenwen to her grandmother's house in the same Sanyang community for a meal.
According to an informed neighbor, Wenwen's parents divorced many years ago, and Wenwen was raised by her father. After the incident on the night of the 26th, someone called the police, and then the officers from the Dongfeng Road Police Station of the Weicheng Branch of the Xianyang Public Security Bureau arrived at the scene. But as of 5 p.m. yesterday afternoon, the station chief said that since the night of the 26th, Liu Fei hadn't said a single word, and they were allowing relevant family members to work on her thoughts.
At the police station, reporters were unable to meet any relatives of Wenwen, and her aunt who was caring for her at the hospital refused the reporter's interview.
