On February 7, a shocking scene unfolded in the bustling downtown area of Liu'an, as a black-headed car collided with two vehicles and ran three red lights in a frenzied escape. The fleeing driver even held a special police officer hostage inside the car for several kilometers. This police officer engaged in a struggle within the vehicle, eventually managing to control the dangerous situation just before reaching the national highway.
That day, the Third Detachment of the Special Police Force of Liu'an City was patrolling near the Shangzhidu intersection at Xiaodongmen when a "Santana 2000" sedan ran a red light. Due to its excessive speed, it damaged a taxi but did not stop; instead, it sped away. After receiving a call for help, the special police immediately cooperated with the traffic police to give chase. They pursued the vehicle to the four-way intersection at Dandongmen where the car stopped at a red light. The special police approached and signaled for the driver to stop, but the offending driver refused to cooperate. After the special police pulled the female passenger from the front seat and controlled her, one officer entered the backseat to subdue the man seated there when the driver suddenly started the car, smashing into a Buick sedan and speeding off. The special police officer sitting in the backseat was forcibly taken along.
The vehicle raced for several kilometers until it reached near Tianying Xingcheng, where this special police officer fought alone against two men inside the car. Seizing the opportunity during a right turn, he leaped up, sharply turned the steering wheel to the left while simultaneously pulling up the handbrake, causing the vehicle to finally stall. The police officer sustained an arm injury, after which the two men jumped out of the car and fled.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the offending vehicle was a cloned black-headed car with both the engine number and chassis number ground flat, making them unidentifiable. The case is currently under further investigation.
