According to our news (intern reporter Liang Shuang, correspondent Zou Guohua), because the third daughter-in-law was virtuous and capable, her 80-year-old father-in-law doted on her. However, one of his peculiar habits always made her feel embarrassed: every time she took a shower, he would bring a small stool and sit outside the bathroom door, enthusiastically helping her hand over towels and clothes. Yesterday, Ms. Zhao, 48 years old, secretly went to the Labor Street Judicial Office to inquire if she could "defend" her rights.

Ms. Zhao introduced that her husband Wu is the third among five brothers and currently serves as the president of a private enterprise in Wuhan. Due to their good financial situation, Ms. Zhao has been a full-time housewife since 2000, wholeheartedly taking care of the family. Because of her meticulousness and diligence, the household was well managed. Her father-in-law particularly liked her and specifically chose to live with the third son among his five children. They also signed a legacy support agreement, stipulating that Ms. Zhao would be responsible for his living and burial obligations, and in return, he would leave a property under his name to Ms. Zhao.

Ms. Zhao has always been filial to her father-in-law. Knowing that he had a habit of drinking milk, she would deliver a cup of warm milk to him every morning and evening. However, since 2007, her father-in-law developed a strange habit: when Ms. Zhao took a shower, he insisted on sitting outside the bathroom door, helping her hand over towels and clothes, claiming that "the clothes inside would get damp." Whenever Ms. Zhao showed any reluctance, her father-in-law would sulk. She once discussed this matter with her husband, but out of concern for the elder's health, they always "tolerated" it. Nevertheless, Ms. Zhao still felt very embarrassed inside.

Legal experts from the judicial office stated that the actions of the father-in-law have already interfered with Ms. Zhao's normal life. In fact, a lawsuit could be filed in court demanding him to stop infringing and eliminate the interference. However, since this is an internal family dispute and the father-in-law has been good to Ms. Zhao and even signed a legacy agreement with her, a lawsuit is not recommended. Instead, it can be resolved by having Ms. Zhao's husband communicate privately with the father-in-law to promote the resolution of the issue.
