Product Purpose: The purpose of the accelerated life test is to enhance environmental stress (such as temperature) and operational stress (voltage applied to the product, load, etc.), speeding up the testing process with an imaging precision mapping instrument, thus shortening the lifespan testing time for products or systems. It is used to investigate when electronic components and mechanical parts wear out and reach their service life limits, what shape the failure distribution function of the service life takes, and analyze the reasons for the increase in the failure rate. With the improvement in semiconductor reliability, most semiconductor devices today can withstand long-term THB tests without failure, which has also increased the amount of time required for testing to determine the quality of finished products. In order to improve testing efficiency and reduce testing time, the latest pressure cooker test method has been adopted. The pressure cooker test method mainly consists of two types: PCT and USPCT (HAST). Currently, the pressure cooker test, as a wet heat accelerated test, has been standardized by the IEC (International Electro-technical Commission).
Note: USPCT is now called HAST (Highly Accelerated Stress Test).
