Oriental Net, February 5th report: According to information from netizens, around 8 PM tonight, an incident occurred at Lujiazui Station on Shanghai Metro Line 2 where a passenger jumped onto the tracks. A man was confirmed dead on the scene and metro operations were briefly affected.

At around 9 PM, the official Weibo account of Metro Line 2 confirmed the incident, stating that at approximately 20:02 tonight, there was an event at Lujiazui Station on Line 2 where a passenger entered the track area and died. Currently, the police have already intervened in the investigation. Other media reported that a similar incident also happened on the fifth day of the lunar New Year, where a woman jumped onto the tracks and died on the spot.

After the incident, netizens posted messages one after another calling for the subway authorities to accelerate the renovation of semi-enclosed platforms into fully enclosed platform screen doors, technically preventing such incidents from happening.
