Our reporter Sun Siya - Within a span of two months, Beijing resident Ren Maomao committed three thefts in the Qingqin Luyuan neighborhood of Haidian near Fragrant Hills. He also stabbed to death a female landlord who had discovered him. Yesterday, the press learned that the prosecutor has filed charges against Ren Maomao for theft and robbery at the No.1 Intermediate People's Court of the city.

The prosecutor accused Ren Maomao, aged 25, of sneaking into the Qingqin Luyuan neighborhood near Fragrant Hills to commit theft early in the morning on November 26, 2010. After being discovered by a woman named Gong, Ren Maomao bound her in the basement and threatened her with a sharp knife he was carrying, forcing her to reveal her bank card password. Subsequently, due to Gong's resistance, Ren Maomao violently stabbed her multiple times in the abdomen and back, causing her acute hemorrhagic shock leading to death. Afterwards, Ren Maomao fled the scene after taking more than 600 yuan RMB, 550 Hong Kong dollars, and one Canon digital camera. He also withdrew 29,000 yuan from the robbed bank card.

Additionally, Ren Maomao is also charged with committing two other thefts on September 11 and November 6, 2010, around 9 p.m., in the Qingqin Luyuan neighborhood. During these incidents, he stole over 4,300 yuan in cash, a Dell laptop, a Panasonic camcorder, a Philips shaver, and eight packs of "555" brand cigarettes.
