The Golden Horse Awards came to a successful conclusion, but the internet was flooded with criticism. Many pointed out eight major flaws: the stage design being too simple, poor camera work and sound quality, A-Lin's inaccurate pronunciation of a Cantonese song, and odd clothing choices by Sandy Lam, among others. Of these, the red carpet alone accounted for four failures, including awkward interviews by host Naito, who only managed greetings that were hard to follow up on; Yang Qianpei referring to China as "the mainland" during guest interviews; the most-nominated film "Seediq Bale" bypassing interviews altogether while walking the red carpet; and even the couple of the mayor of Hsinchu City receiving criticism for their red carpet appearance. Among the highlights, the excellent chemistry between father-daughter duo Zeng Zhwei and Zeng Baoyi added many memorable moments, but Zeng Zhwei's inappropriate joke about "those years, the girls we all 'raped' together" left a bad taste in the audience's mouth.
