According to our news report, a nanny who had served the same family for 16 years was suddenly found dead in her employer's home. The police investigation concluded that the cause of death was consistent with poisoning by dichlorvos combined with hemorrhagic shock, and it was not a criminal case. However, the family questioned this conclusion due to knife wounds on the deceased's chest.

Yesterday, the Daxing police stated that through scene examination, forensic identification, and investigative interviews, they confirmed the cause of death as dichlorvos poisoning combined with hemorrhagic shock, and excluded any criminal involvement.

In the room where the death occurred, pesticide and bloodstains were found. For several days, at the Xingtao Community in Huangcun Town, Daxing District, the children of Hubei-native nanny Ji Changying sat by the community’s east gate holding their mother's portrait.

On May 21, Ji Changying died at her employer's home in this community. Her family said that Ji Changying was 53 years old and had been serving the same employer for 16 years.

Ji Changying's daughter mentioned that on the day of the incident, the employer called her to come to the Xingtao Community, saying, "Your mom is sick." When she arrived, the employer's younger brother took her to the Daxing Public Security Bureau, where the police informed her that her mother had already passed away and her body was now at the mortuary.

According to the Daxing police, Ji Changying's place of death was in a guest room on the first floor of the employer's house. At the death scene, a pesticide bottle and bloodstains were found.

Yesterday, Mr. Zhang, the employer's younger brother, confirmed that he discovered the scene and reported it to the police.

The body showed signs of stab wounds resembling needle pricks.

Mr. Zhang recounted that around 10:30 AM on May 21, he came to his older brother's house. Normally, the nanny Ji Changying would open the door when the doorbell rang, but this time, the employer's young daughter opened it. Subsequently, the employer's family realized that Ji Changying was missing and began searching for her.

Mr. Zhang noted that he found a locked guest room on the first floor with a strong smell of pesticide. Upon entering, he saw Ji Changying lying on the ground with white foam at the corner of her mouth, and immediately called the police.

After the police arrived, they confirmed that Ji Changying had already died.

On May 23, during a university cafeteria's attempt to mix mooncakes with chili peppers and black fungus, students described the taste as bizarre. The family then saw Ji Changying at the mortuary.

"My mom had knife wounds on her chest, and there were traces resembling needle pricks around the wounds. There were also marks resembling bite marks on her arms," Ji Changying's daughter stated yesterday, indicating that upon seeing the knife wounds, doubts arose about the cause of death.

The police's investigation determined that Ji Changying's death was consistent with dichlorvos poisoning combined with hemorrhagic shock, and it was not a criminal case.

In the family opinion section of the identification conclusion document, all members of the Ji family clearly wrote "objection."

"The two conclusion documents did not explain any of the suspicious points regarding the knife wounds on my mom's body. If it wasn't a criminal case, it implies my mom committed suicide. Why would a perfectly fine person suddenly commit suicide, especially at the employer's home?" Yesterday afternoon, Ji Changying's family stated that the police's conclusions failed to convince them. They tried multiple times to inquire with the police but received no response.

Yesterday, the Daxing police stated that on May 21, they received an emergency call reporting that a woman had died at a resident's home in the Xingtao Community of Huangcun Town. After receiving the call, officers rushed to the scene to handle the situation. Through scene examination, forensic identification, and investigative interviews, the police confirmed that the cause of death was dichlorvos poisoning combined with hemorrhagic shock, and ruled out any criminal involvement.

■ Family Doubts

Was the death related to the loss of the employer's dog?

Ji Changying's daughter mentioned that four or five days before the incident, Ji Changying had called home saying that the employer's dog was lost. "My mom said at the time, 'If the dog is lost, my life is over too.' We suspect that my mom's death might be related to the loss of the employer's dog."

Yesterday, the employer's younger brother said that the lost dog was just an ordinary one, not particularly valuable, but it had been in the household for many years. It was possible that Ji Changying had deep feelings for this dog and found it hard to accept its loss. Ji Changying had undergone surgery last year and recently mentioned feeling "mentally unwell," which could suggest some instability in her mental state.

Yesterday, the employer expressed surprise at the sudden death of their nanny Ji. "We have always treated our nanny well." Prior to the incident, there had been no conflicts between the employer's family and her. "We don't know why she suddenly passed away."

Why does the deceased have a knife wound if it wasn't a homicide?

The family also questioned why the deceased had a knife wound on her chest if the police investigation ruled out any criminal involvement.

In response, the Daxing police stated that technical means were used to rule out the possibility of murder. Specific details have been communicated to the family, but due to considerations involving investigative secrets and privacy, they are not suitable for disclosure to the media.

Last night, Ji Changying's family indicated that no one had explained to them the reasons for determining the death as non-criminal.

According to insiders, based on criminal investigation techniques, the knife wound on Ji Changying's body was self-inflicted after consuming pesticides. The fact that her clothes were intact but she had injuries on her chest suggests that she lifted her own clothing to stab herself. The pinhole-like injuries were left from testing the sharpness of the knife. The so-called tooth marks mentioned by the family were actually old scars.

■ The Deceased

"Outgoing and easy to get along with"

"First in Renqiu, Hebei, then in Beijing, my mom worked as a nanny for the same employer for 16 years," Ji Changying's daughter said. There were three siblings in the family, and all their schooling expenses were covered by their mother.

Neighbors of the employer couldn’t believe that the usually cheerful Ji Changying had suddenly passed away. "She was very outgoing and easy to get along with."

Neighbors noted that Ji Changying grew vegetables on the empty land behind the building and often shared them with neighbors.

Ji Changying once told her daughter that in July, the employer's wife would return from abroad, and she would return to her hometown in Liangshuihe Town, Danjiangkou City, Hubei Province, ending her 16-year career as a nanny.

"But she will never see her hometown again," her daughter said. Their house was the most beautiful in the village, "all thanks to the money my mom earned."
