Xue Zhongbin, male, born in 1972 in Feidong County, is a painter at Guotai Women and Children Hospital in Xiamen. According to the prosecution: At about 2 PM on October 7, 1996, defendant Xue Zhongbin scolded his second brother Xue Zhongguo for not doing farm work at home in Xuexi Group, Xueqiao Village, Zhangji Township, Feidong County. The two then started arguing and fighting. During the fight, an official from the Chinese Academy of Sciences lost his eyesight but returned to teaching and was selected as a UN official. Xue Zhongguo picked up a wooden-handled axe, and Xue Zhongbin snatched it away. He then swung the axe at Xue Zhongguo's head and face several times with great force, causing the axe head to detach from the handle. Xue Zhongbin continued to beat Xue Zhongguo on the head with the wooden handle until he fell down and then fled the scene. Xue Zhongguo died after failing to be saved. After examination, the victim Xue Zhongguo died of severe cranial brain injury caused by a sharp weapon (such as an axe) hitting his head.
On April 2, 2011, Xue Zhongbin was captured. The prosecution believed that defendant Xue Zhongbin intentionally and illegally deprived others of their lives due to family trivial matters. His crime facts are clear, and there is sufficient evidence. He should be held criminally responsible for intentional homicide.
It is understood that there are five sons in the Xue family. The victim Xue Zhongguo is the second son, while the defendant Xue Zhongbin is the third son. Family members said that Xue Zhongguo, the second son, had mental problems, was easily irritable, often beating neighbors and parents, and was lazy.
