Exercise 38: Expression of Emotion

Subject: Close-ups of human and animal faces and body (capturing moments of action).

Requirements: Master the optimal shutter timing, achieve a connection with the emotions of the subject—human or animal. In addition to facial expressions, pay attention to other body language to ensure it aligns with the theme. Pay close attention to every detail of the composition.

Suggestions: Start practicing with people around you, especially children and pets. Observe their joys, sorrows, anger, and pleasures in daily life, and identify interesting characteristics. Then, use a telephoto lens to capture candid moments when the subject is unaware. When beginning practice, try to use the automatic mode as much as possible.
