**Fault Phenomenon:** Normal water intake, but no water retention inside the machine, and no washing occurs.
**Inspection and Judgment:** The lack of water retention inside the machine is caused by the drain pipe being placed on the ground or at too low a position. Drum washing machines do not have a drainage valve; they use a drainage pump for discharging water. During water intake, if the drain pipe is placed on the ground or set too low, the water entering the outer drum will flow out along the drain pipe. Since the washing machine cannot retain water, it cannot reach the preset water level, so the water level switch will not activate, preventing the washing machine from starting its washing operation.
**Solution:** Hang the end of the drain pipe outlet 60-100 cm above the bottom of the washing machine (or hang it on the edge of the sink). Power on and test the machine, and the fault will be resolved.
