Reported by Chen Hui of the Yangcheng Evening News and intern Ma Lei: On the afternoon of May 25th, a strange man called a mobile phone. With a strong Hunan accent, he asked: "Do you need 'regret medicine'? After taking our company's 'regret medicine', you will never regret it again in the future!"
Subsequently, the man sent a text message introducing himself as a salesperson from the "Guangzhou Assistance Investment Co., Ltd." He boasted that his company only made one product to cater to human hearts - custom-made regret medicine, specializing in treating misfortunes and physical ailments. He left a QQ number, hoping to "connect on QQ and witness the miracle."
Was this a prank or a scam? It was decided to investigate further. Through QQ, we received the "product information" sent by the man. After much exaggeration, the "product information" pointed out that "there are all kinds of medicines in the world, except for 'regret medicine' for sale". Therefore, this "Assistance Company" met the demand by custom-making "regret medicine", targeting people who desire wealth or safety. This "regret medicine" was expensive, starting at 7777 yuan for individuals, symbolizing "disasters gone, good fortune coming". For groups, including companies and families, it started at 27777 yuan, still symbolizing "your disasters gone, your wealth coming".
After carefully reading the product introduction of the "regret medicine", it finally became clear that what was called "regret medicine" was actually using palmistry, physiognomy, feng shui, and other methods to help people foresee the future and avoid calamities in life, along with a 120,000 yuan insurance policy.
