Case Replay: Zhang Xuejing, a female teacher from Qingdao, hired students to come to Shenzhen to kill her rival because of her boyfriend's infidelity. However, five inexperienced "young hitmen" mistakenly targeted Wang Surong, a sanitation worker who had just finished her shift, leaving her in a vegetative state.

Shenzhen News (Reporters Wang Na and Liu Qida): The case of the Qingdao teacher hiring students to travel a thousand miles to kill her rival went to trial for the first time yesterday in the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court. Yesterday's hearing lasted three hours, after which the judge announced a recess and postponed the verdict to a later date.

The victim of the case, sanitation worker Wang Surong, remains in a vegetative state in the hospital's ICU ward. Her husband has filed an additional civil lawsuit seeking 40 million yuan in compensation.

Yesterday, the prosecution argued that defendants Zhang Xuejing, Shi Chunlong, and others should be held criminally responsible for intentional homicide. In court, teacher Zhang Xuejing denied committing intentional murder, while Shi Chunlong and the other five individuals admitted their guilt.

In court, Zhang Xuejing first denied that she hired the students due to emotional disputes. She said that she and the target, Li Mou, were friends who had a disagreement over mobile phone business dealings. Li Mou threatened to cause trouble at her school, so Zhang Xuejing wanted to teach her a lesson. "I didn't originally intend to kill her, just to give her a bit of a lesson."

However, Shi Chunlong and others in court did not agree with Zhang Xuejing's explanation. They stated that Zhang Xuejing previously referred to Li Mou as the "third party," claiming she had taken away Zhang Xuejing's husband and even had a child with him, which is why Zhang Xuejing wanted to hire someone to punish Li Mou.

Additionally, reporters learned that Shenzhen social workers have joined the case to provide psychological counseling to Wang Surong's family and to help mediate relations with the hospital.
