E-Online message (Chutian Golden Newspaper) - Due to not finding an ideal job, a university graduate actually resorted to drug trafficking for profit. On the 16th, Song was tried in Wuhan Intermediate People's Court on suspicion of transporting over 3000 grams of drugs.

Song is the only child in his family and graduated from a provincial university in Wuhan. Investigations revealed that on May 6 this year, Song was instructed to carry drugs back to Wuhan. On May 7, he was caught by local police when entering a neighborhood in Hankou. The police found seven large packages of suspected drug items from his luggage, which were all confirmed as methamphetamine, weighing over 3000 grams. The prosecution charged Song with the crime of drug transportation.

During the trial on the 16th, Song confessed to the criminal facts charged in the indictment. Song argued that after graduating from university, he failed to find an ideal job. After trying his luck in Shanghai for some time with no success, his father occasionally scolded him for it. As a result, Song became immersed in bars where he met a "big brother." This "big brother" offered high rewards of 3000 yuan each time for Song to bring goods from other places back to Wuhan and deliver them to designated locations to collect the payment. After serving the "big brother" twice, Song realized that the goods were actually drugs. However, the "big brother" threatened him to continue transporting drugs; otherwise, his family would be at risk. Song claimed that he had no knowledge of the "big brother's" real name or other details.

The defense also requested leniency for Song based on the reason that he was coerced by others. However, the prosecutor pointed out that since the "big brother" is currently at large, it cannot yet be determined whether Song was indeed coerced into drug trafficking.

The verdict for this case will be announced on a later date. (Reported by Xiao Lijun, communicated by Qiu Zhen, intern Zhang Yanyong)
