On the afternoon of the day before yesterday, a young couple was found dead in the Xiniu Apartment located on Xiniu Central Street in Baiyun District. After investigation by the police, it was confirmed that the two died from charcoal burning suicide. However, the reason for their suicide is still under investigation.
The male and female residents suddenly disappeared
On September 26th, a young couple came to the Xiniu Apartment on Xiniu Central Street near Satoo Road. After completing the check-in procedures, they were assigned to room 223 on the second floor of the apartment. Old He, another tenant in the same apartment, vaguely remembered that this couple didn't look very old and seemed like a young couple.
According to the original check-in procedure, the couple had originally planned to stay for only two days. Old He said that during these two days, the couple didn't show any abnormal behavior and often went out to play. Until the early hours of the morning before yesterday, they had originally said they would check out at noon the previous day, but until 1 a.m., they returned from outside and renewed their stay for one more day. "At that time, they told the server that because they were very tired from coming back late, they wanted to rest well in the morning, so they asked the server not to clean the room."
During the daytime yesterday, this young couple never appeared again. In the afternoon, the apartment staff decided to go to the room to inquire about the situation. Old He said that the staff found the door locked from the inside, and it was only then that they realized something might have gone wrong.
The couple found dead in the bathroom after burning charcoal
After discovering the abnormal situation, the apartment management immediately called the staff. When everyone forcibly broke into the room, the scene shocked them all. Old He said that in the bathroom, the young couple had already fallen on a small sofa.
When the 120 ambulance arrived at the scene, the medical personnel confirmed after examination that the two were already dead.
According to the Baiyun police, in the deceased's room, there were ashes left from burnt charcoal, and the forensic doctor also confirmed that the two died from carbon monoxide poisoning inhalation, thus confirming it as a suicide incident. At the scene, letters left by the two were found, which merely stated that they no longer wanted to live and hoped their families wouldn't grieve for them, but did not disclose the related reasons for their suicide.
By 11:50 PM last night, the police completed evidence collection, and the bodies of the two deceased were transported away from the scene.
