Chutian Metropolis Daily News (reporter Yuan Qi, correspondents Tao Huoying and Yu Qian): An 82-year-old grandmother, Mrs. Pan, residing in Yangluo, Xinzhou, takes care of her son suffering from schizophrenia and her granddaughter by walking 4 kilometers every day with a basket of vegetables to sell at the market. After hearing her story, a kind-hearted person visited her and gave her 2000 yuan. Yesterday, Mrs. Pan called the reporter hoping to find this kind-hearted person so she could express her gratitude.

At around 11 a.m. yesterday, a black car stopped in front of Mrs. Pan's house. A stranger got out of the car, took out a bundle of cash from his pocket, and handed it to Mrs. Pan, saying: "I heard from a friend that your granddaughter is sick and urgently needs money. This money is for your granddaughter's treatment." Before Mrs. Pan could react, the man got back into the car and left. Mrs. Pan counted the money: exactly 2000 yuan.

Mrs. Pan's son, Tao Xi Hua, suffers from intermittent schizophrenia and is unable to work; his wife left home 15 years ago. Her granddaughter, Ting Ting (a pseudonym), aged 16, also has the same illness as her father, but her condition is milder and occurs less frequently. To ensure her granddaughter's future, Mrs. Pan concealed her granddaughter's illness. Ting Ting did not disappoint her grandmother's hopes and was admitted to a key high school in Xinzhou last year.

The heavy burden of life falls on Mrs. Pan's shoulders. In order to support her family, she cultivated an abandoned piece of land and planted vegetables. She gets up before dawn every day, carrying a basket of vegetables from Xiong Jiatián, and walks four kilometers to the big vegetable market in Yangluo Street to sell them. After a hard day's work, she can only earn 20 or 30 yuan.

Mrs. Pan said that it would take her about four to five months of selling vegetables to earn 2000 yuan. She hopes that our newspaper can help her find this kind-hearted person so she can send him some of the vegetables she grows as a token of her appreciation.
