Our staff reporter Chen Hai: At around 2:30 AM today, an accident occurred at the Puxi exit of the Dalian Road Tunnel. A man fell from an overpass into the tunnel and was run over by passing vehicles, resulting in his death.
According to reports, after the man fell into the tunnel, he was immediately hit by a fast-approaching vehicle and thrown several meters before being dragged under the car. Chaos erupted inside the tunnel. "It was truly terrible!" said one witness. Afterwards, the funeral car and accident emergency response vehicle arrived successively to handle the situation.
This morning, I learned from the Hongkou police that this incident happened at the Puxi exit of the Dalian Road Tunnel, where the man fell from an overpass at the exit into the tunnel. The accident is currently still under further investigation and handling.
