A worker was dangling at a height of over 100 meters
The accident scene was in total disarray
The injured were urgently sent to the hospital
Manas, September 20th (reporter Sun Tao, correspondent Lin Jun) At 17:00 on September 18th, the Manas County Fire Brigade in Xinjiang received an emergency call reporting that at the construction site of the TV station along the Wukui Expressway bypass in Manas County, a communication tower crane had collapsed. One person was injured and hanging in mid-air, while two others were trapped under the collapsed pipe materials.
Upon receiving the alarm, the deputy platoon leader Huang Liang immediately led a team of one vehicle and eight personnel, arriving at the scene at 17:05.
After investigation, it was found that the scene was in chaos, with the collapsed pipe materials scattered on the ground. The tall main frame of the television tower stood alone, and one construction worker was hanging from the crossbeam of the tower frame. His right hand was severed, connected to his forearm by only a thin layer of skin, blood flowing freely from the broken forearm. His uninjured left hand was struggling weakly, his life hanging by a thread. Additionally, two other workers lay amidst the jumble of pipes, blood splattered across the surrounding materials.
After confirming that there was no risk of secondary collapse for the television tower structure, the commander quickly instructed two soldiers to prepare safety ropes, hooks, and other tools for high-altitude rescue operations. Three soldiers provided suspension protection for the trapped worker, while two soldiers assisted medical personnel from the 120 emergency services to rescue the two individuals trapped under the collapsed pipe materials. They successfully rescued the two workers from beneath the debris. On the tower itself, two soldiers had climbed to the top. The firemen at the location where the trapped person was hanging looped the prepared safety rope and hook over the tower's crossbeam, securing it tightly to the safety harness around the waist of the trapped individual. With the assistance of three safety personnel below, they slowly lowered the victim down.
After nearly an hour of urgent rescue efforts, all three trapped individuals were finally saved and transported to the hospital by the 120 emergency services. Currently, the local Public Security Bureau is conducting further investigations into the cause of the accident.
