On July 14, Vice Minister of Environmental Protection Li Ganjie attended the acceptance activity of the world's first R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant room air conditioner production line. He pointed out that the completion of this project has two landmark significances.
Currently, the refrigeration industry generally uses R22 refrigerant, which not only has a significant destructive effect on the ozone layer but also has a significant greenhouse effect. According to the provisions of the Montreal Protocol, the global will comprehensively restrict the use of R22 by 2030. Finding an alternative working fluid for R22 has become the most urgent task for the refrigeration industry.
Gree Electric research found that the performance coefficient of pure natural environmental protection green refrigerant R290 can not only reach the standard of R22 but also does not contain fluorine elements, will not destroy the ozone layer, and will not emit greenhouse gases to exacerbate global climate warming. It is a completely environmentally friendly refrigerant and can be a key development direction for air conditioning alternative refrigerants.
On the same day, the Sino-German joint expert group carefully reviewed the Gree R290 refrigerant air conditioning production line project and unanimously believed that the project reached international leading levels, which plays a significant role in promoting the development of new environmental protection refrigerant application technology and eliminating R22 working fluid in the room air conditioner industry.
In his speech at the acceptance ceremony, Li Ganjie pointed out: - The completion of this project has two landmark significances. First, it marks the construction of the world's first split-type room air conditioner production line using propane as a refrigerant; second, it marks the passing acceptance of China's first HCFC replacement project. The ozone depletion potential value of propane is zero, and its climate warming potential value is also very low. Using propane as a room air conditioner refrigerant is a bold innovation by China's industrial sector in response to global environmental issues such as ozone layer destruction and climate warming. The completion of the project will not only actively promote China's comprehensive implementation of international environmental conventions and accelerate the elimination of HCFCs but also, from the perspective of energy saving or reducing greenhouse gas emissions, have an important synergistic effect in mitigating climate change through the application of this fluoride-free refrigerant.
