Zhao, a 29-year-old woman from Shangluo, met Li from Yanliang district of Xian in 2009 through an introduction. They held a wedding ceremony in September 2009. However, Zhao suddenly disappeared, and her husband Li searched for her everywhere.
At home, Li found a mobile phone left behind by Zhao. He discovered that a woman surnamed Li had frequent communications with his wife. Li called Ms. Li and demanded an explanation. Eventually, Ms. Li revealed the truth: it turned out that Zhao was a prostitute working at a beauty salon in Chang'an district. Upon learning this news, which was like a bolt from the blue, Li went to find his wife Zhao according to the address provided by Ms. Li. In May 2010, they filed for divorce.
Before getting married, Zhao and Ms. Li met while working in Chang'an district and developed a good relationship. In June 2010, Zhao took Ms. Li to a guesthouse on Guodu East Street in Chang'an district and forcibly demanded 3000 yuan, claiming that Ms. Li had leaked her privacy, leading to her divorce. Helplessly, Ms. Li wrote a promissory note for 3000 yuan.
On the evening of January 10, 2011, Zhao once again summoned Ms. Li to a guesthouse in Chang'an district and forcibly demanded 250 yuan and a mobile phone. Ms. Li decided to report the incident to the police. On January 13, the police arrested Zhao at a beauty salon. Recently, the People's Procuratorate of Chang'an district in Xian has prosecuted the suspect Zhao for extortion.
