Chutian Metropolis Daily News (reporter Jinniang Wang, correspondent Qixiong Wu) In the past few days, including our newspaper's news tip-off platform, many websites, forums, and posts have appeared claiming that "several middle school students in Yingcheng were murdered." After investigating and finding out that the content of the post was a rumor, the Yingcheng police quickly debunked it. On the afternoon of the previous day, two rumor spreaders were detained.
Since the 11th of this month, our newspaper's news tip-off platform has received multiple tips stating that "a girl from a certain middle school in Yingcheng was raped, and several students from the school were killed within a short period, with some of the injured being treated in the hospital." The reporter immediately contacted the Yingcheng police, who stated that they had not received any similar reports recently.
Subsequently, the same post appeared on Tieba, Yingcheng Forum, and other online platforms, spreading rapidly and drawing widespread attention from netizens and citizens. Some parents of local students became very anxious as a result. The Yingcheng Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government attached great importance to the matter and instructed the local police to investigate and handle the situation promptly.
After conducting investigations and visits to several schools in the urban area, the police did not find any cases of student abuse, confirming that this was purely a rumor. They promptly debunked it online and urged citizens not to believe or spread rumors. On the afternoon of the 13th, Zeng Mou (male, from Yingcheng) and Ding Mou (male, from Yunmeng), who spread the rumors online, were arrested. Currently, both have been administratively detained.
