Hannet News (Communicator Wang Bo, Reporter Shang Wei Zhi) - For good luck, a stock trader parked his car at the 158km marker of the Suiyue Expressway to trade stocks and was caught red-handed by the police of the Eighteenth Brigade.
Yesterday morning at around 11:20 AM, while patrolling, the police noticed a sedan parked in the emergency lane at the 158KM section of the Suiyue Expressway. The car had neither hazard lights on nor warning signs set up.
Upon approaching, the officers discovered a man and a woman inside the vehicle. The man was trading stocks on a laptop. Upon inquiry, it turned out that the two were a married couple who were traveling to Tianmen for an errand. Along the way, the wife was monitoring the stock market trends and updating her husband about the situation.
When they reached the 158km mark, the husband thought the number "158" symbolized "make me rich," so he decided to stop and check the stock market.
Seeing the traffic police checking, the husband rolled down the window with excitement and said, "Brother Policeman, have you traded stocks? My stock is almost hitting the daily limit today. It's almost closing time. Please wait just a moment. After I finish, you can penalize me however you want."
The officers, torn between laughter and frustration, fined the man 200 yuan for illegal parking and recorded 6 demerit points against his license according to the law.
