Wenzhou News Network - After sneaking into the same household 10 times in a row to commit theft and each time leaving with gains, he was finally caught during his 11th attempt. Recently, the Yongjia County People's Court sentenced him to two years in prison for theft and fined him 4000 RMB.
This "picky" yet "loyal" thief is Qi Mou, an 18-year-old young man from Hubei Province. On May 30, 2008, Qi Mou first broke into Xie's home in Oubei Town, Yongjia County, and successfully stole 1100 RMB in cash and a bicycle. Thereafter, until October 23, 2009, Qi Mou broke into Xie's home another 9 times and succeeded each time, stealing a total of 2 bicycles, 5 computer hosts, 4 mobile phones, 1 DVD player, and some cash.
On the evening of October 31, 2009, Qi Mou broke into Xie's home again. This was his 11th visit. However, this time, instead of immediately starting to steal, he hid inside a wardrobe to "rest" and only began his "operation" the next day. He was then discovered and caught on the spot by Xie and his family.
Recently, after reviewing the case, the Yongjia County People's Court believed that Qi Mou had committed theft multiple times with the intent of illegally possessing others' property, involving a relatively large amount, constituting theft. However, considering his willingness to admit guilt, most stolen items have been recovered and returned to the victim, and taking into account that he was a minor when committing some of these crimes, the court decided to impose a lenient punishment on him.
