After leaving the hospital without permission, a large amount of property was left behind and it wasn't until a month later when the hospital notified her that she became aware.

On July 6, Ms. Xiao fainted on the side of the road.

A kind-hearted person called the police, and she was taken to the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University.

The next morning, she left the hospital without her belongings.

She has no memory of what happened at the hospital. It wasn't until the hospital contacted her that she regained some memory.

Report by Lu Jianluan: After fainting on the street and being rescued by good Samaritans who took her to the hospital, a woman suddenly left the hospital without permission, leaving behind a mobile phone, cash, gold chain, and other items. A month later, the hospital found her family and notified them to retrieve the belongings. However, the woman had absolutely no recollection of the incident - this is the true story of Ms. Xiao from Wuhan. The hospital stated that Ms. Xiao's temporary amnesia could possibly be related to her history of schizophrenia.

Ms. Xiao, in her 30s, is from Wuhan but worked in Guangzhou for over a decade, speaking fluent Cantonese. "I remember clearly that on July 6, I came to Guangzhou to visit relatives and stayed in a hotel." Later, Ms. Xiao returned to Wuhan herself, but unexpectedly received a call from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University a month later, stating that she had been to the hospital and left behind a mobile phone, cash, and other items. However, Ms. Xiao could not recall any such event.

Yesterday afternoon, accompanied by a reporter, Ms. Xiao went to the hospital to understand the situation. Both the on-duty doctor and nurses at Guangzhou Medical University No.1 Hospital had a deep impression of Ms. Xiao's case. "It was around 5 PM on the evening of July 8 when a kind citizen called 120, saying they found Ms. Xiao unconscious on the roadside. Our ambulance then picked her up and brought her back," said Nurse Peng from the emergency department. She added that when Ms. Xiao was admitted, she was weak and claimed she hadn’t eaten for several days. Her consciousness was still clear, but her speech was unclear, "She didn't even say her name correctly, and her speech was also unclear. If she hadn't been helped by a kind-hearted person reporting her condition, it might have been more serious."

According to the nurses' recollections, when the doctors asked Ms. Xiao to stay for observation, she strongly resisted and appeared quite agitated, "At one point, she even wanted to hit someone." In the early hours of the next day, Ms. Xiao quietly left without notice, leaving behind an ID card, mobile phone, 1000 yuan in cash, a watch, a gold chain, and over ten other personal belongings. Nurse Peng said, "We searched for her everywhere, even knocking on the bathroom doors several times, but eventually confirmed that she had truly left. So we reported it to the police."

Later, through the ID card and mobile phone left behind by Ms. Xiao, the hospital nurses managed to contact her family in Wuhan after much effort. Nurse Peng said, "We informed her family to come and collect the belongings."

"I really don't remember anything about this happening," said Ms. Xiao. "I remember coming to Guangzhou on July 6, then returning to Wuhan, but I completely forgot everything that happened in between at the hospital. As for my mobile phone not being with me, I thought it was left at home." Ms. Xiao mentioned that only after her family informed her did she realize what had happened. "I once suffered from schizophrenia," Ms. Xiao frankly admitted, "My first episode occurred in 1993, but I was cured later. This amnesia may be related to that." Director Liang of the Emergency Department at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University indicated that it was possible Ms. Xiao had an episode while at the hospital, "Her agitation at the time was a sign, and after the episode, she left the hospital and subsequently forgot everything that happened during the episode."
