Rednet Yuetang Station, May 31st (Intern reporter He Wei) - Taking advantage of the Children's Day "trend," recently, an online trend of selling children's urine has emerged.

What is the children's urine used for? Can it be sold? Regarding these questions, today, a reporter contacted the industrial and commercial department for an interview.

Merchants Selling Children's Urine, Claiming It Can Cure Diseases

On Taobao, after entering the three characters for "children's urine," relevant content such as children's urine eggs and fresh children's urine immediately pops up.

In a store selling fresh children's urine, the merchant uses a picture of a baby urinating as the product photo, with prices ranging from 2 to 15 yuan for every 20 grams. In the detailed product description, the seller claims that children's urine can treat colds, headaches, abdominal fullness, improve eyesight, and enhance voice quality.

The reporter observed that in the product details, fields such as production license number, health permit number, and product standard number are all blank, with zero transactions. However, the click-through rate is much higher than other products sold by the same merchant.

Citizens: Unreliable, Not Daring to Trust Easily

Undoubtedly, the sale of children's urine has caught the attention of many netizens on platforms like NetEase Blog. Is there a possibility that some impulsive citizens might want to try it? With this question in mind, the reporter interviewed citizens at the Heda Construction Crossroad in Xiangtan City.

Among the ten citizens interviewed by the reporter, they all expressed that it was the first time they had heard that children's urine could be bought and sold, and they found it unreliable.

"Such things can only be looked at for entertainment; we don't dare to trust them easily," Ms. Liu said. Moreover, is there really someone drinking urine? It sounds quite disgusting.

Industrial and Commercial Department: Many Issues, Citizens Should Avoid Trying

The reporter contacted the Xiangtan Industrial and Commercial Department, where relevant personnel stated that the practice of online stores selling children's urine not only involves suspected false advertising but also violates the "Food Safety Law." This is because the children's urine sold by these online stores has not been inspected by health quarantine departments. Privately selling it already constitutes a violation of the "Food Safety Law," and if it causes harmful adverse effects on the human body, corresponding legal responsibilities will need to be pursued.

The industrial and commercial department reminds citizens to maintain a clear head regarding such sales and not to joke with their own health. Even if children's urine does have certain medicinal value, one should consult a doctor and must not casually purchase it online.
