After three months of relaxed filming, the shooting of TVB's new fashion drama "Hongwu Thirty-Two" in Hong Kong finally came to an end for Jojo Kiang. This was her first time taking on a period drama, and in it, she played the role of Yongmu Princess from the Ming Dynasty. Despite being a noble princess, this character often rode horses, dressed as a man, and wielded weapons, behaving more like a tomboy. Therefore, during the filming process, Jojo Kiang had to try out male costumes, perform wire stunts, and engage in martial arts scenes. She couldn't help but express that she had also learned various martial arts skills along the way, which would make her more experienced in shooting period dramas in the future.
Before she could fully satisfy her craving for playing a Ming Dynasty princess, Jojo Kiang had to rush to Thailand overnight to start filming a new big-screen movie titled "Perfect Fairy Tale," directed by renowned director Pang Fai. In this new film, Jojo Kiang will take on the challenging role of a girl with autism. Transitioning from a Ming Dynasty princess to a Thai girl with autism, Jojo Kiang openly admitted it was a great challenge: "I hope I won't have a mental breakdown." As she spends her days in Thailand, she has to temporarily set aside the role of Yongmu Princess. "This new movie is a new attempt for me, and I will definitely put in my best effort to act well," she said. To better shape her character, director Pang Fai specially arranged for Jojo Kiang to consult with a psychologist to understand the cases of autistic patients.
In this new film, Jojo Kiang will also collaborate for the first time with actors Lau Ching-Wan and Wang Baoqiang. Since her debut, Jojo Kiang's first big-screen work, "The Nature of Men," saw her paired with two Hong Kong male stars, Nicholas Tse and Shawn Yue. This time, with the support of veteran actor Lau Ching-Wan and mainland Chinese star Wang Baoqiang, Jojo Kiang's lineup as a newcomer in the film industry is unmatched. Jojo Kiang expressed her gratitude and determination to learn from them to improve her acting skills: "I am very excited to meet them in Thailand, and I have specially bought small gifts to give them." The filming in Thailand will last about a month. Besides shooting, she plans to invite them to enjoy local delicacies together, though, of course, the gentlemen will be footing the bill.
