Vice President of Giorgio Armani Will Be Leaving Next Month

The vice president of the fashion luxury brand Giorgio Armani Group, John Hooks, will be leaving next month. The main reason for John Hooks' departure was due to the reorganization plan launched by Mr. Armani in early 2009. With Mr. Armani's advanced age and no immediate heirs, he still insists on refusing any sale of the company or seeking a strategic partner.

The U.S. "Women's Wear Daily" newspaper reported that John Hooks' departure is not unrelated to the restructuring plan. As Mr. Giorgio Armani approaches eighty years old, the future development of the group remains uncertain due to the lack of successors. Meanwhile, he himself has repeatedly stated in the media that he has no intention of selling before.

John Hooks, as Mr. Armani's right-hand man, has played a significant role in the Giorgio Armani luxury brand fashion group for eleven years. The British-born John Hooks joined the Giorgio Armani group in 2000 and served as deputy general manager. In September 2009, he was promoted to vice-president and also became a member of the company's board of directors. Besides being responsible for the company’s global marketing strategy and the development of different brands within the group, he also oversees all foreign branches. John Hooks said that he is leaving the Giorgio Armani group because after serving the group for eleven years, it is time for him to take a rest. But now, he is preparing a few new projects related to five-finger shoes.
