Two months of trial operation results in over a thousand violations being caught
Deputy Director Lü Zhengzhang of the Office of the City 112 Command Center introduced that these monitoring points are not equivalent to conventional "electronic police" or "electronic eyes." The latter mainly targets red-light running and other illegal behaviors for 24-hour monitoring, while the 46 monitoring points can rotate 360 degrees, allowing officers to manually control and take photos, capturing traffic violations, requiring human operation.
The activation of the traffic violation vehicle recording system allows officers to enforce laws from their offices. After capturing and recording illegal behaviors, the data is uploaded to the City 112 Command Center, then reviewed and filtered before publicizing and penalizing the offending vehicles and actions.
Since May 1st, the "non-onsite enforcement of traffic violations" has been trialed in the urban area for two months, already catching more than 1,300 cases of traffic violations.
It is understood that our city's traffic police department is accelerating research and planning, installing monitors where there are more violations.
