"Why is there so much wastewater on newly built roads with little traffic?" On April 21, during a routine inspection, the Taihu New City Urban Management Team in Wuxi discovered that the newly constructed Hechang Road was severely polluted. Upon closer inspection, they found an "auto repair shop without a storefront" hidden on the sidewalk.
The owner of the "auto repair shop" explained that due to the high requirements for business premises in the auto repair industry, factors such as the size of the storefront, electrical wiring, drainage systems, and rent often cause headaches for operators. Unable to find a suitable location, he decided to set up his business directly on the sidewalk. During the car repair process, large amounts of dirty water from washing cars and oil stains from repairs were produced, polluting the road surface.
The patrol team immediately ordered the individual to cease the illegal activities, required them to clean up the road pollution right away, and imposed legal penalties accordingly. At the same time, the urban management team also increased patrols and enforcement efforts on this road, instructing team members to conduct regular inspections for such "sidewalk auto repair shops," promptly identifying and addressing various violations to ensure the cleanliness and order of the road environment.
