1: The sense of hierarchy in compositional graphics
The sense of hierarchy between graphics and elements can highlight the theme one wishes to convey while interfering with vision. This method of expression is often direct and effective.
The visual interference we refer to here helps redirect the viewer's excess focus, allowing them to pay more attention to the main theme of the design. The graphic resulting from this interference serves as a supporting element for the central theme.
Take the graphic I referenced below as an example. In the graphic, the irregular semi-transparent elements, light rays, numbers, blocks, and the enlarged robots create a certain depth and layering. These elements, while dispersing the viewer’s gaze, also concentrate their attention on the central figure of GUNDAM Death Scythe and the robot below it. This design approach is quite common nowadays, and probably most people find it pretty COOL.
