Act Five

Characters: Teacher Wang, Qiao Yu, Li Shan

Scene: School Library

Music: "Promised Happiness," "Fate"

Props: Set (school library), Teacher Wang (women's suit, lecture binder), Li Shan (backpack, school uniform, school badge),

Qiao Yu (MP3 headphones, jeans, trendy cap)

Narration: Li Shan is helping Qiao Yu catch up on his studies in the school library.

Li Shan (smiling): Hey, you, look at this problem. You got it wrong again. It should be like this. Look, look (frantically gesturing with a ruler on the test paper, pushing Qiao Yu lightly with her left hand). Hey, what are you doing? Scribbling nonsense?

Qiao Yu (scribbling something on Li Shan's notebook, dodging nervously): Nothing, aren't you supposed to explain the problem to me? Then hurry up and explain.

Li Shan (playfully rolling her eyes): Pfft, it's because you're not paying attention.

Qiao Yu (sneering): Who said that? I've already finished! (making a funny face)

Li Shan (moving the notebook in front of Qiao Yu, reaching for her own notebook): Hurry up and do it, stop fooling around.

Narration: Li Shan and Qiao Yu were happily engaged in their mutual help activity. At that moment, neither of them knew that Teacher Wang had been watching them for a long time outside the library door.

Teacher Wang (forcefully pushing open the glass door, striding over to them, glaring angrily): What are you two doing?

Qiao Yu, Li Shan (panicking, looking up at Teacher Wang's ashen face, getting up helplessly): T...T...Teacher Wang.

Teacher Wang (staring angrily at Li Shan): Li Shan, you've really disappointed me! I thought so highly of you!

Li Shan (helpless, nervous--): Te...Teacher, it's not...not what you think.

Teacher Wang (waving her hand): No need to explain. You, and you (pointing furiously at Qiao Yu), come to my office right now! (turning around angrily and walking out of the library).

Narration: Li Shan lowered her head, silently collecting her books, tears welling up involuntarily. Qiao Yu took a tissue from his pocket, reaching out to wipe away Li Shan's tears.

Li Shan (dodging): No, it's fine, thank you. I'll do it myself! (taking the tissue)

Qiao Yu (his hand awkwardly suspended in mid-air, turning and walking out the door, then pausing): Then...I'll go first. (staring at Li Shan for a long time, taking a deep breath, walking toward the angry Teacher Wang) Let Teacher Wang criticize me first, maybe she'll calm down and won't make things difficult for you.

Office.

Teacher Wang (angrily yelling): Tell me, Qiao Yu, how dare you get involved with someone as excellent as Li Shan? She has such a bright future, but now it might be ruined by you. Do you understand? And early romance too!

Qiao Yu (controlling his tone): Teacher Wang, we didn't. She was just purely helping me study!

Teacher Wang (waving her hand imperiously): That's still unacceptable! In the future, you'd better stay away from Li Shan. If you don't get into the top high school, others want to!

...

Narration: Qiao Yu walked painfully on the street, hanging his head. Teacher Wang's words weighed heavily on him like a thousand-pound weight, crushing his heart. He wandered alone among the bustling traffic. People came and went, each with cold faces, exuding icy indifference.

Qiao Yu (looking up at the gloomy sky, reflecting his current mood, recalling the teacher's severe scolding, closing his eyes heavily, suddenly shouting): We'll see! I will definitely work hard! I will definitely get into the top high school!

Narration: On Li Shan's notebook, where Qiao Yu wrote a sentence where Li Shan's tear marks were left, beneath that sentence, new marks appeared—"Sorry, and thank you!"

Act Six

Characters: Teacher Wang, Li Shan, Qiao Yu, Fan Xiaoxiao

Scenes: Office, Classroom

Music: "This Life, Memories Are Enough"

Props: Set (classroom), Teacher Wang (desk, office sign, women's suit, report card), Li Shan (school uniform, school badge), Qiao Yu (jeans, trendy cap), Fan Xiaoxiao (school uniform, school badge)

Narration: Inside the office, Teacher Wang sat alone on the chair, her left hand resting on the armrest beside her, her right hand tightly gripping the report card. Her gaze lingered on the tenth row of the table, where it clearly read "Qiao Yu, 10th place." Looking further up at the top of the table, "Li Shan," she sighed deeply. Teacher Wang leaned her head back, resting it on the back of the chair, rubbing her face with her left hand. Qiao Yu's rapid progress gave her an unusual feeling. In the past, in her mind, Qiao Yu was just a "little thug" figure, appearing indifferent to everything, unmotivated, which was why she became so angry when she saw him with Li Shan, even neglecting to understand or consider the cause and effect of the situation!

"Ring Ring Ring—" The bell for class rang sharply.

Teacher Wang (straightening up, troubled, massaging her temples): Sigh, let's go teach class. ("Squeak—" leaving the office)

Narration: In the classroom. Class had started five minutes ago, but Teacher Wang hadn't arrived yet, which was strange. Teacher Wang, who was always punctual, was late today. For the short twenty-meter distance, Teacher Wang felt especially heavy-hearted today. Thinking about the final exam results, she felt as if a huge stone was pressing on her heart, making it hard to breathe. Those feelings of guilt surged like waves, overwhelming her. Teacher Wang's mind was filled with contradictions—should she praise Qiao Yu and Li Shan? If she did, and they were indeed involved in "early romance," wouldn't that mean she was supporting them? If she didn't praise them, their obvious progress was undeniable, especially Qiao Yu's significant improvement. Not praising them would seem unreasonable... Sigh! Teacher Wang frowned, gently shaking her head, hoping her thoughts could become clearer...

Teacher Wang (action, conflicted mindset) "Squeak—" pushed the door open, slowly stepping into the classroom, appearing burdened with worries.

Students: The students held their breath, sitting quietly, staring straight at Teacher Wang.

Teacher Wang (showing a faint smile, after a long pause, finally spoke): Students, today in our class meeting, we will summarize the final exam results! The high school entrance exam is approaching... Finally, I would also like to commend two students—

Narration: The students whispered and speculated who it might be.

Teacher Wang (earnestly, sincerely): These two students are Li Shan and...and Qiao Yu! Especially Qiao Yu, who made the most progress!

Narration: As soon as Teacher Wang's words fell, the students all raised their heads, wide-eyed, astonished. The name Qiao Yu being mentioned in the teacher's commendation was simply like a fairy tale! But no one noticed Fan Xiaoxiao lowering her head, her face turning red with shame.

Narration (action): Qiao Yu looked up, incredulously staring at Teacher Wang, unable to recover immediately. (psychology) This was the first time he had ever been praised by Teacher Wang. How...how could the teacher praise him? It's too strange, right?

Narration: Li Shan remained calm, a slight smile on her face, thinking that the teacher had finally changed her mind. Great! She glanced at Qiao Yu, his shocked expression making her burst out laughing. (action, demeanor)

Teacher Wang (laughing slightly, embarrassed): Talking about Li Shan and Qiao Yu, the teacher still feels very guilty now. I once opposed their pairing, but now, facts have proven that the teacher's views were wrong. Regarding my harsh evaluations of them before, the teacher sincerely apologizes. It was wrong of me to complicate a simple matter. So I want to say to them: I'm sorry!

Narration: At this moment, a complex feeling surged in Qiao Yu's heart. The resentment towards the teacher seemed to disappear instantly. Deep inside, a joyous force rose, making his lips involuntarily curl upward, upward. Unlike Qiao Yu, Li Shan remained calm. To her, this seemed to be the best ending. The teacher's understanding, Qiao Yu's progress, this was her greatest wish. Haha, it's really come true, yeah!

Li Shan (standing up, smiling at the teacher): It's okay, teacher, you were just trying to help us!

Qiao Yu (nodding, standing up): Teacher Wang, I admit I resented you before, thinking you were too unreasonable. But now, I promise (making a swearing gesture, winking playfully) that my resentment towards you has truly vanished! It's you and Li Shan who inspired me to strive harder!

Teacher Wang (couldn't help but laugh, looking at Qiao Yu): You! You just can't shake off your mischievous grin!

Students (action, demeanor): "Clap..." The classroom erupted in enthusiastic applause. The students laughed and clapped, everyone showing their joy openly. Even Fan Xiaoxiao, who had been keeping her head down, lifted it with a sincere smile. Everyone was giving Qiao Yu and Li Shan the most genuine congratulations.

Act Seven

Characters: Li Shan, Qiao Yu

Scene: XX First Middle School

Music: "We Walk on the Broad Road"

Props: Set (school path), Li Shan (uniform, badge of First Middle School), Qiao Yu (uniform, badge of First Middle School, trendy cap)

Narration: In the blink of an eye, the high school entrance exam was over. Li Shan achieved remarkable results in the exam. Today was her enrollment day. Li Shan hummed a tune, walking happily home, when with a "snap," the new books in her hands accidentally fell to the ground. Li Shan quickly bent down to pick them up.

Qiao Yu: "Hey, here you go!" A familiar voice suddenly called out.

Li Shan (looking up, surprised): Qiao Yu!

Qiao Yu (smiling faintly): Li Shan, hey, how about that? I, Qiao Yu, got into the first middle school!

Li Shan, Qiao Yu exchanged glances, both laughing joyfully. (Their laughter echoed through the campus air.)

Curtain falls

Psychologist's Review:

The content of this script vividly recreates realistic campus life. The dialogue between characters is rich, profoundly expressing changes in the characters' psychology. Prominent psychological concepts in this drama include:

1. Characteristics of adolescence, specifically sensitivity to relationships with the opposite sex. Characters in this play hold different views on opposite-sex relationships: For instance, Fan Xiaoxiao believes it leads to favoring friends of the opposite sex over same-sex friends, while Teacher Wang thinks it causes academic decline or turns students into troublemakers.

2. Human habitual thinking. This play suggests that very academically successful students shouldn't pair up with those performing poorly, and male and female students shouldn't pair up either. The content of the script effectively guides people to recognize that habitual thinking may constrain us; breaking free from habitual thinking can have significant implications.

3. "Self-suggestion" behavior. In Act Five, Qiao Yu shouts: "Just wait and see! I will definitely work hard, I will definitely get into the top high school!" This represents self-psychological suggestion. Qiao Yu firmly believed in the power of self-suggestion, resulting in very noticeable progress, ranking tenth in the entire class, and eventually getting into a key high school. This leads us to realize that timely and persistent positive self-suggestions can unlock everyone's maximum potential. (Wang Zhenjun)
