Before orthodontic treatment, the following examinations are generally required:

1. Bite impressions: (i.e., taking molds) used for doctors to diagnose and design treatment plans based on the misalignment situation, and for comparison checks during subsequent treatment processes.

2. Photography: Before treatment, doctors routinely take facial and occlusion photographs of the patient for future comparison after treatment is completed.

3. X-ray examination: Every patient undergoes routine lateral cephalogram and panoramic curved layer tomography.

4. Treatment plan formulation: Based on the model, photographs, and X-rays, after measurement, calculation, and diagnosis of malocclusion type, the doctor formulates a detailed treatment plan. Then, the doctor explains the treatment plan to the patient and their family, seeking their opinions. After the treatment plan is confirmed, the patient or their family signs the consent form.

5. Specific treatment process.

6. After treatment is completed, the orthodontic appliance is removed, and a retainer is worn.
