The silver award of hiREC - Samsung Young Designer Award was awarded to the designer of this electronic scale, Andrea Vecera. The reason why it is called a super electronic scale will be clear when you take a look at it. It has a touch screen, which will tell you the weight of the food, its shelf life, price and other related information when you place an item on it. More importantly, it can distinguish whether an item is food or something else according to its barcode. Personally, I think this is not difficult to achieve because we already have electronic barcodes now.
