David Graas' "Not a Table Lamp" and "Not a Pendant" take IKEA's flat-pack furniture concept and apply it to lighting. The "Not a Table Lamp" is designed to sit flat on a table, projecting shadows through a simple cardboard box, while the "Not a Pendant" is designed to hang from the ceiling, using a basic lampshade to mimic the shape of a light bulb.
Although I like the graphic shadow effect of both lamps, I suspect that the "Not a Pendant" would be more useful as it has a large hole at the bottom that allows the bulb's light to shine onto the table. By contrast, the intricate pattern of the "Not a Table Lamp" seems to allow very little light to pass through, leading me to suspect that only its edges are functional.
The "Not a Table Lamp" also comes in brown, orange, green, and blue options...
