The Importance of Movement Speed to Archers

Not long ago, by chance, I realized the importance of movement speed for archers. Whether it's fighting bosses or engaging in player versus player (PK) battles, movement speed plays a crucial role. Below, I will analyze these two scenarios:

At this point, movement speed becomes quite important. Those who move fast can escape without even mounting their horses. Besides escaping, you can also dodge your opponent's formations. Often, one run and one strike is enough to easily defeat your opponent.

First, let's talk about movement speed during boss fights. Many people have realized that the bosses in Tian Dao generally have very high movement speeds. Therefore, for the archer class, it is quite challenging to fight higher-level bosses. While other classes like charioteers can throw objects through fences and walls, and knights can charge through walls and summon phantom horses, archers can only run and fight simultaneously.

Taking my personal experience as an example, when I fought the Xiongnu bosses, I used to activate the Assault Formation. It would take me around 15 attempts to kill one Xiongnu boss. However, a few days ago, my friend grouped with me and activated the Swift Formation. When I went to fight the Xiongnu bosses, surprisingly, I only died twice before defeating him. The boss couldn't catch up to me at all. As long as there weren't any major mistakes, running and striking was quite easy. Even if I made a mistake and got caught, one Ice Arrow could buy me enough time to recover.

From that moment on, I realized the importance of movement speed.

Now, let's discuss the role of movement speed in PK situations. At lower levels, PKing doesn't happen much, so there isn't much emphasis on it. As levels and gear improve, fighting becomes one of the most important parts of the game. Especially when PKing against charioteers, movement speed can play a significant role.

In my server, enemy charioteers are quite powerful, with high attacks and devastating instant kills. A single stone can almost finish you off. In such cases, an archer can still fight back with techniques like Pursuit Wind - Ice Arrow - Pursuit Wind - Ice Arrow to drive the enemy away. However, if you encounter someone who knows a bit about PK skills, they might start with a Thousand Flags Formation, leaving you with no choice but to run.

As for PKing against knights and warriors, personally, I don't think there's much technique involved. You just stand and fight, seeing who can last longer. So, at this point, the significance of speed comes into play.

Since realizing the importance of movement speed, I've swapped out my old gear for items that increase movement speed, abandoning the previous focus solely on attack. I've found that my PK and monster-killing abilities have doubled.
