39 Image And Icon Search Engines You Should Know About

We must face the fact that during our design process, we rarely design a single image or icon. This is not to say that we can't do it, but rather that doing so allows us to more effectively save time and focus on our own designs. Many excellent designers generously share some of their designs for free, and in fact, we can find many commendable and Creative Commons-licensed images and icons via the internet. So now, all we need to know is — how to find them.

(Some content has been omitted as some websites are not very practical, so a few have been removed. There's also one picture search website I use every day: www.deviantart.com, which should be the most comprehensive one for designers. Oh, there's no need to mention Zcool (a Chinese design community), as everyone in China knows about it. If you use it secretly, just be prepared for design collisions.)
