German-Chinese cultural pictorial, Yang Liu

Liu Yang was born in Beijing in 1976. At the age of thirteen, he moved to Germany with his family. At seventeen, he was admitted to the Design Department of Berlin University of the Arts, where he studied under Holger Matthies. He obtained both a master's degree and a Meisterklasse degree. After graduation, he worked and lived in London, Berlin, and New York successively. In 2004, he started his own design studio in Berlin. He has taught at the Dutch Design Centre, the Design Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China, and the Glasgow School of Art in the UK. He has also given lectures at international design seminars and expos. Liu Yang's works have won important awards in international design competitions multiple times and have been exhibited and collected by several international museums.
