4. Basic Shadows

Just like gradients, shadows are widely used by web designers. When used correctly, shadows can indeed add visual depth and texture to a design. The key is still not to overdo it or misuse it.

The depth of the shadow depends on the direction and intensity of the light, as well as the distance between the object and the surface receiving the shadow. The stronger the light, the sharper and darker the shadow; the weaker the light, the weaker the shadow will be.
