Computer scientists, Heinrich Stiller (Armin Mueller-Stahl) and Douglas Hall (Craig Bierko), have developed virtual reality in computer science to the highest level. They create a living, realistic, fully tangible Los Angeles of 1937 on a small computer chip. They frequently move between these two worlds, one real and one virtual. Heinrich discovers an astonishing secret in the world of 1937 that he urgently needs to tell his work partner, Douglas. So, he leaves a letter containing the secret in the world of the 1930s.

On the night Heinrich returns to the present world, he is murdered! The next day, when Douglas wakes up, he first finds a blood-stained shirt in his house, followed by news of Heinrich's murder. Naturally, Douglas is considered the prime suspect in Heinrich's killing. Strangely, Douglas has no memory whatsoever of what happened the previous night. Could he be the murderer? At this point, a mysterious woman claiming to be Heinrich's daughter appears. What connection does this woman have to the murder? How will Douglas uncover the truth? Who killed Heinrich? Could it be a killer from 1937?

2000 years ago, Plato argued that the "real world" exists only in our imaginations. Today, advanced technology in modern society seems to start proving Plato's assertion. Everything, such as missiles and nuclear explosions, can be simulated on a tiny chip. This virtually created world not only provides humans with valuable information but also avoids any actual destruction to the "real world." But what if this virtual world evolves? What if this fabricated world develops beyond its intended scope, blurring the boundaries between reality and illusion? What if it has already happened? Adapted from the novel *Simulacron-3*, this film explores the possibility of such allegorical topics. In an interview, director Josef Rusnak said: "This movie could be considered a condensed version of the novel *Simulacron-3*. The theories, background, questions about who the creator truly is, and what is real, all captivated me deeply. It made me reflect on who or what God and truth really are."
