The story begins with the last scene of "Resident Evil 1": Alice (Milla Jovovich) wakes up from a long enforced hibernation, only to find her worst fears realized - the Raccoon City is overrun with undead zombies. Soon, Alice realizes that during her unconscious state in the secret research base of "Umbrella" chemical company, she had become an experimental subject for the scientists' study on bio-genetics, which endowed her with new powers and sensitivity. It is these unfamiliar new skills that saved her life.
