The South Korean TV series "The Wife's Temptation" became a hit among many white-collar workers, triggering the "Jang Na Ra effect" in the fashion industry.
Recently, Jang Na Ra has gained a new nickname among TV personalities. Her starring role in SBS's daily drama "The Wife's Temptation," which recently became a super-popular show, achieved an impressive record of all advertisements being sold out, despite the backdrop of an economic downturn.
In fact, when "The Wife's Temptation" first aired, there was only one advertisement sponsor. However, after two months of airing and with rising viewership ratings, all advertisements were completely sold out.
The polka dot clothing that was once popular in the 60s and 70s has made a comeback. In this drama, Jang Na Ra wears a white blouse with small black polka dots, exuding elegance and sophistication.
Moreover, following her success in the advertising field, Jang Na Ra is now also known as the "sold-out queen" in the fashion industry. The outfits she wore in the drama caught the attention of female audiences, causing a sharp increase in clothing sales.
The pink series outfits worn by Jang Na Ra in "The Wife's Temptation" were sponsored by a domestic women's clothing brand, with prices ranging from 300,000 to 400,000 Korean won.
According to Jang Na Ra's side: "As soon as it finished airing, the phones at the production company and the agency did not stop ringing with inquiries about the clothes she wore."
A relevant staff member from the clothing sponsor said: "In December, our clothing appeared in the drama for only a month, but the three sets of costumes worn in the drama were completely sold out. Although we cannot provide specific data, achieving complete sales in the current economically depressed society is quite difficult. Even now, we still receive frequent calls asking if the clothing is available for purchase, so we are considering re-production plans."
The staff member added: "Although we have sponsored many female artists' clothing before, the situation where everything sells out has been very rare recently. Now, there are even places selling counterfeit 'Jang Na Ra outfits,' which is indeed troubling us."
Additionally, SBS's nightly daily drama "The Wife's Temptation" broke through 30% viewership for the first time after its re-run began, and it continues to rise every day.
