Before washing, the leather board should be carefully checked. If any damage is found, it should be sewn up with cotton thread. When washing, use a brush dipped in alcohol or gasoline to wash the fur in order twice. Then sprinkle glutinous yellow rice flour (moisten with a little water to make the flour damp) on the fur side. Rub the glutinous yellow rice flour evenly into the fur with both hands. Gently move the fur back and forth until the fur is dry and the flour is dry. After washing, shake several times to let the glutinous yellow rice flour fall off, then dry in the sunlight (do not expose to direct sunlight). Once the fur is dry, shake off the flour and it will be clean as new.
Preparation of glutinous yellow rice flour: Soak the glutinous yellow rice in water for one day and night, then scoop it out and grind it.
When there's no glutinous yellow rice flour available, wheat flour or talcum powder can also be used as substitutes. However, some high-grade "delicate" furs are not suitable for using talcum powder.
