Synopsis:

Four good friends, Ah Xi, Mo, Wan, and Tang, pray to the banyan tree god before the college entrance exam in hopes of getting into university. At the shrine, they meet Ah Gui, a trishaw driver who also prays to the banyan tree god, hoping to win the lottery so he can buy a new trishaw.

Not long after, miraculous things begin to happen, and everyone's wishes come true. Overjoyed, the five decide to repay their vows but discover that the banyan tree has been cut down and removed from its original location. Initially, the five young and carefree individuals don't take repaying their vows seriously.

However, strange occurrences start affecting each person, causing them immense mental and physical strain. Wan, in particular, is tormented to the point of losing his mind. In the end, Ah Xi, Mo, and Tang decide to find out what happened to the banyan tree and are shocked to learn that it has been made into thousands of toothpicks...!
