Synopsis:
Finding a parking space is hard, but finding one doesn't necessarily mean good luck has come your way...
On Mother's Day in Taipei, Chen Mo (played by Zhen Zhang) plans to have dinner with his wife (played by Lun-mei Guey) to mend their estranged relationship. On his way home, he decides to buy a cake and spots an available parking spot on the side of the road. Happy to find a place to park, he leaves his car to make the purchase. However, upon returning, he finds another vehicle parked next to his, blocking his way out.
Chen Mo tirelessly knocks on apartment doors in search of the other car's owner, encountering a series of coincidences and unexpected situations: an elderly couple who lost their only son and their precocious granddaughter, a one-armed barber shop owner cooking fish soup, a mainland prostitute trying to escape her pimp's grasp, a Hong Kong tailor besieged by debt collectors, getting a sack thrown over his head, beaten up by gangsters leaving him bruised and battered, and finally ending up becoming parents to an infertile couple!?
After spending the entire night dealing with these situations, will Chen Mo be able to return home safely?
The film features a tightly woven plot and marks director Menghong Zhong's first feature-length drama. It gathers a stellar cast including Shijie Jin, Mei-Yao Chang, Leon Dai, Lun-mei Guey, Jack Kao, Chung Hua Tou, Jiu Kong, Nadou, and more. The movie also participated in the "Un Certain Regard" section of the Cannes Film Festival.
