Tom Cruise's new movie "Valkyrie" will be released in major domestic theaters on February 26. The film is directed by Bryan Singer, who also directed "The Usual Suspects" and "X-Men 2". It tells the story of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg's attempt to assassinate Hitler in order to end the war.

It is worth noting that four actors in the film - Carice van Houten, Waldemar Kobus, Kristin Berk, and Halina Reijn - also starred in Paul Verhoeven's "Black Book", which also tells a story from World War II.

Story summary:

Claus von Stauffenberg (played by Tom Cruise) was born into a noble German family. Under the influence of his general father, he eventually embarked on a military career. With his high education, intelligence, and strong organizational skills, Stauffenberg was quickly promoted to a senior officer in the German army.

In 1942, Stauffenberg attempted to persuade senior commanders in the eastern region to overthrow Hitler. In 1943, while still recovering from injuries, he joined a group of anti-Hitler forces that had been secretly lurking within the highest echelons of power. They cleverly used Hitler's own emergency response plan as a disguise, aiming to eliminate those in power and dismantle the Hitler regime. Soon after, Stauffenberg was appointed as the highest-ranking official of the Home Army Command, giving him the opportunity to enter Hitler's underground bunker "Wolf's Lair" and directly contact Hitler. Starting from early July 1944, Stauffenberg always carried explosives in his briefcase, ready to bomb Hitler at the right moment. However, due to the anti-Nazi group's insistence on capturing Hitler and his main war planners all at once, three opportunities to kill Hitler were missed. On July 20, Stauffenberg attempted to assassinate Hitler again, but only caused minor injuries to Hitler, resulting in the complete failure of the "Valkyrie" assassination operation. Hitler immediately ordered the Gestapo to carry out a brutal massacre of those involved in the assassination attempt...

Of course, we should support Tom Cruise's movies!
