Synopsis:
In a dimly lit bar, three down-on-their-luck men exchange their grievances and frustrations. Baoshan (played by Simon Yam), Penghui (played by Louis Koo), and Mo Zhongyuan (played by Honglei Sun), all burdened by societal, family, and financial pressures, hatch a grand plan over drinks. Their conclusion? Money is the only way to change their miserable circumstances.
A mysterious old man appears and leaves them a clue, setting the trio on an adventure to uncover hidden treasure. Mo deciphers the old man's cryptic codes and discovers that the treasure lies beneath the Legislative Council building. With high hopes of striking it rich, the three set out to find the treasure. Just as they believe fortune is within reach, undercover detective Zhengwen (played by Ka Tung Lam) arrives in hot pursuit.
A series of strange events unfolds. News reports announce the death of the mysterious old man, while Penghui is coerced by a triad boss to participate in a bank heist. Despite their suspicions about the secrets buried alongside the treasure, Mo and Penghui decide to take the risk for the promise of wealth. What they uncover is not gold or jewels but a priceless national treasure — a prehistoric mummy encased in pure gold.
The discovery of this artifact creates tension and conflict among the trio. Each harbors private motives, reevaluating their relationships with one another. Suspicion, doubt, and prejudice cast a shadow over their initial joy at finding the treasure.
Baoshan witnesses his wife Ling (played by Kelly Lin) having an affair with Wen, leaving him deeply troubled. That night, after returning home, Ling picks a fight, further deteriorating their strained marriage.
Wen plans to flee with Ling and devises a scheme to steal the treasure to fund their escape. Through Baoshan, they learn the location where the artifact is hidden. However, during the theft attempt, Wen is caught off guard and becomes Baoshan’s prisoner.
Wen is held hostage in an ancient house, where Ling is lured into a trap. Upon seeing Wen captured, she quickly shifts all blame onto him. Desperate to salvage his relationship with Ling, Baoshan believes her story and even helps her put on part of the golden attire. As the two embrace, Wen burns with jealousy.
Penghui and Mo arrive at the house and are shocked to see Baoshan reconciling with Ling. Suddenly, Wen lunges at Ling, stabbing her severely before seizing the golden garment and fleeing in a car.
Penghui drives Wen, Mo, and the critically injured Ling through chaotic roads in a panic, unsure of their next move. Mo insists, regardless of Ling's condition, that they must retrieve the golden garment at all costs.
After a tire blowout, the group finds themselves stranded in a remote village where they unexpectedly discover Wen's whereabouts. Mo devises a plan to switch the golden garment under cover of darkness. During their operation, they stumble upon a secret arms deal involving triad members, sparking a dangerous confrontation.
In the dark, gunshots erupt, scattering Wen, Penghui, Mo, and Ling in different directions through the underbrush. Facing life-and-death decisions, the choices between survival, wealth, and friendship hang precariously in the balance...
