For two years, Peter has been busy dealing with new challenges that keep coming his way: First, he had to learn how to use his superpowers freely; Second, he had to carefully maintain his dual identity, balancing between being a superhero Spider-Man and an ordinary college student. But living as two different people is very painful, his love for Mary grows stronger day by day, but his Spider-Man identity forces him to hide his true feelings. Meanwhile, Mary continues her life like every normal person: She has achieved her dream of becoming an actress, and there is another man in her life who she could love - Peter begins to seriously consider whether he should give up his secret identity and boldly express his love.
In addition, Peter's friend Harry Osborn (James Franco), driven by the desire for revenge for his father's death, constantly opposes Spider-Man, causing their relationship to be always shrouded in unease; even his beloved aunt (Rosemary Harris) begins to doubt his true identity. Just when Peter is struggling to keep up, he encounters a powerful opponent - Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), thus Peter learns that the meaning of fate lies in acceptance rather than avoidance, he must spare no effort to stop this madman's evil plan...
