Synopsis:

The enigmatic "Silver Surfer" travels between the stars and arrives on Earth, once again plunging our disaster-prone planet into crisis. The wacky Fantastic Four -- Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, The Thing, and Human Torch, who were just looking for something to do -- naturally take on the grand challenge of saving the Earth from peril. Before Silver Surfer unleashes his destructive attacks, the Fantastic Four must quickly uncover his weaknesses and the secrets hidden behind him. Meanwhile, the "Doctor Doom," whose fate was left uncertain in the previous installment, begins to cause trouble from behind the scenes.

With comic book adaptations all the rage, the cash cow Fantastic Four series naturally didn't pass up the chance to make a sequel. In addition to the return of the sexy and fiery "Invisible Woman," the muscle-bound "Human Torch," the ever-changing "Mr. Fantastic," and the steel-hard "The Thing," the film introduces a new villain -- the "Silver Surfer." The abilities of the antagonist often determine the excitement level of comic book movies, and this new enemy is a liquid metal man entirely created by computer special effects, bearing a striking resemblance to the main antagonist in "Terminator 2." Riding a surfboard, capable of reflecting any beam weapon, and flying through space, it remains to be seen whether the "Silver Surfer" can elevate the quality of the movie and give the Fantastic Four series more staying power.
