Introduction:

This film brings to the screen a true story from the Cold War era. Eric O'Neill is promoted to the FBI headquarters to work for Robert Hanssen, a senior FBI counterintelligence officer. Hanssen provided U.S. secrets to the Soviet Union during the Cold War and later to Russia after its end. O’Neill’s real mission within the FBI is to find evidence that Hanssen sold American national secrets to the Soviet Union.

However, as the investigation deepens, O'Neill becomes caught up in admiration for his surveillance subject, and various suspicious signs begin to surface...
